When you decide to live in an apartment, you have to make some sacrifices since you'll likely be sharing ceilings and walls with multiple tenants living separate lives. Usually, noise ordinances allow you to have some peace and quiet at the appropriate times of day. These times typically fall between 6/7 AM through 9/10 PM. Sounds reasonable, right? Well, some apartment tenants are better off living in a cottage in the middle of nowhere so the only thing they can complain about is crickets. Crickets won't understand, so they'll be unbothered. Nobody should bear witness to an entitled neighbor, especially when you're doing everything right.

The apartment tenants in this next story are walking on eggshells in their own home after they receive multiple complaints from their downstairs neighbor about their noise levels during appropriate hours of the day.   • littletart People who need silence but then live in communal housing. There are lots of ways to manage this, like getting an end unit, being on the top floor, renting from a duplex or smaller building. What a pain in the a they are making your normal life a problem.
